‘School Chalo Abhiyan’ was recently organized by the NGO Relief India Trust to motivate literacy among children. Drawing their inspiration from Sri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s ‘Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan’, the NGO made a visit to a government school in Noida. The visit was aimed to boost the morale of students and motivate them to learn and grow.
The visit was made to a primary school in Sultanpur, Noida in March, 2015. The children were gifted sets of stationery items which included bags, lunch boxes and geometry cases. They were also given pens, pencils, writing pads and books.
The students were very enthusiastic about meeting Relief India Trust volunteers and having received gifts from them. Bringing smiles to faces is a solace like no other and RIT volunteers succeeded in enlightening the day for those kids.
We live in a world which is extensively dynamic and diversified. To enable the generation of today to grow as fast as the pace demands, they need to be instilled with a dynamic approach to growth. Facilitating an all-round development is essential for a child’s growth. As RIT focuses on an all-round development of children, children were also distributed carom boards, cricket sets, footballs and board games.
The children were also given mid-day meal which was sponsored by RIT. Under the government’s Mid-day Meal Scheme, RIT funded the meal for kids.
Relief India Trust has been working to promote community mobilization, participatory governance and a sustainable growth. The key activities which RIT undertakes are promotion of literacy among children, preservation of environment, protection of child rights and boost literacy among adolescent girls.
